Awaiti Lodge is located within the scenic gardens of a beautiful 15 acre lifestyle block only 4.8 Km's from Ohakune, the southern gateway to the Tongariro National Park World Heritage Site and Mt Ruapehu's three awesome ski fields offering some of the best natural skiing and snowboarding terrain in the country; huge snow filled basins, lift accessed backcountry, steep chutes, drop-offs and secret powder stashes. Mt Ruapehu offers something for everyone; fantastic learners facilities, terrain parks for snowboarders and free-skiers of all abilities as well as the best spring skiing and riding in all of New Zealand. The more adventuresome may enjoy Tukino's Cat Skiing where you are driven via snowcat to the very top of the Tukino Skifield and let loose on 300 vertical metres of untracked sun-facing open bowls and ridges!
If snow adventures aren't your thing we've got plenty of other exciting activities close by including fantastic cycle trails, tramping, hunting, golf, white water rafting, trout fishing, canoeing, not to mention the world class "Tongariro Crossing" and "Bridge to Nowhere" walks.
The lodge itself has fully self contained accommodation which is all on the second level and accessible via it's own spiral staircase with fantastic views of the spacious gardens backing onto the Waimarino Golf Course. With central heating throughout you're sure to be cosy and warm, even if it's snowing outside!
